Swelling

A certain amount of swelling occurs after almost every operation and, according to the location and extent of the procedure, may be in an acute phase for up to three weeks, thereafter re-occurring periodically for up to twelve months.

The acute phase may be shortened by observing the following recommendations: cooling, sleeping with the upper body raised, no alcohol, avoiding saunas and solariums, lymph drainage.
