Scars
No operation can be carried out without scars forming—but a careful surgeon with a keen aesthetic sense will “hide” the scars so that even initially they are not obvious. Scar formation is different for each individual. In the facial area the process generally goes well and only a few people have a tendency for excess colloids or scar growth. You can make a real difference to how quickly your scars heal and the speed at which inflammation and swellings subside. As well as cooling the area in the first few days, there is a particularly effective cream for scars, used from the time the wound starts to heal and for a few weeks following. This alleviates redness considerably, thus reducing the visual impact of the scar. Moreover, sunbathing, and solariums should be avoided for eight to sixteen weeks, depending on the operation.
