Chin implants
Chin implants are made of a well-tolerable, hard silicon. The procedure involves an incision in the mouth area through which the implant is inserted. Swelling and hematomas may occur for up to two weeks after the procedure, but the patient is normally able to resume social life even earlier. Aside from application of the technique in autologous fat treatment, it can be used to improve the patient’s overall facial harmony in correcting an underdeveloped chin. The disadvantage of this, however, is the risk of the implant shifting. The advantages and disadvantages of the two methods must therefore be weighed against each other. Dr. Wolter will gladly assist you in choosing the right kind of implant.
