Cast
Patients must wear a cast following a nose operation, which is removed approx. nine to ten days later. Because during this phase there should be no movement in the nasal skeleton, the area surrounding the nose and especially the cast should be treated with care. Even a small amount of agitation can cause deformation! When the cast is removed, you will get a first glance at your new nose. At this stage, the nose will still be swollen, particularly around the upper part and at the tip, but will become more attractive and finer in appearance once fully healed. Your doctor will advise you to tape your nose at night for up to four weeks after surgery by using a special technique with an imbricated dressing as instructed prior to hospital release. At this stage, your nose will begin to take on its final look, but in some cases can remain slightly swollen for up to six months after surgery.
